Business Intelligence Consultant
A Business Intelligence Consultant is an expert with advanced knowledge of IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence technology. This position is responsible for providing consulting on Business Intelligence projects, and performing development of BI projects. This may include assisting with mapping requirements, developing estimates, developing data warehouses, developing OLAP databases, writing reports, dashboards, and scorecards, performing some DBA tasks, code and data testing. Will be responsible for implementing these solutions, and supporting the customer post-implementation. May also be involved in sales meetings with potential customers.

Responsibilities Include:

• Desigining and Building BI applications
• Assisting with requirements gathering
• Executing the requirements of BI systems
• Project and application documentation
• Interfacing directly with the customer
• Consulting with sales
• Travelling when required

Qualifications Include:

• 3 years IT consulting/project experience
• 1 years BI experience (Data Warehousing/OLAP/Reporting/Scorecards/Planning Applications)
• 1-2 years experience with IBM Cognos 8 BI including reporting, analysis, dashboards and scorecarding.
• Understanding of business reporting and analytical issues
• Strong understanding of SQL
• DBA skills a plus
• Understanding of data warehouse & OLAP design
• Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and overall communication skills
